How is this different from Generation CFO?
Generation CFO is monthly bookkeeping plus a CFO call — built for smaller and earlier-stage businesses, roughly up to $1.5M in revenue. Generation Finance® is the full outsourced finance department: full-charge bookkeeping, AP, payroll, sales tax, tax planning, and ongoing financial strategy, run by a whole team instead of one person on a monthly call. Same CPA-led standards, scaled up for bigger books.
Do you replace our in-house team, or work alongside it?
Most clients hand us the whole finance function; others keep an in-house Controller or outside CPA for taxes and we plug in around them — payroll, tax planning, higher-level strategy, whatever's missing. We scope the engagement to what you actually have and actually need.
What size business is this really for?
Generally $1.5M to $25M in revenue — big enough that a single bookkeeper or a monthly CFO call isn't enough, not yet big enough (or interested in) building and managing your own in-house department. If you're outside that range, tell us where you actually stand; we'll say plainly whether Generation Finance or Generation CFO is the better fit.
Do you handle payroll and sales tax directly?
Yes — payroll processing and sales tax compliance are both part of the core engagement, not add-ons.
Is tax preparation included?
Yes, typically — both business and owner tax return preparation are part of a full department engagement, built on books we've already kept clean all year, instead of a scramble every spring.
Will we have one point of contact, or a rotating cast?
